Seeds of Hope

This is what we are about.

We plant seeds that one day will grow.

We water seeds already planted knowing that they will hold future promise.

We lay foundations that will need further development.

We provide yeast that produces effects far beyond our capabilities.

We cannot do everything and there is a sense of liberation in realising that.

This enables us to do something, and do it very, very, well.

It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way,

An opportunity for the Lord's grace to enter and do the rest.

What it means:    


We want you to have the very best education we can offer.  For the work you undertake in class to be interesting and for you to approach it with enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge.  We never want the work to be too difficult or too easy for you, but for there to be enough challenge in order for you to learn from your mistakes.  We want you to have plenty of opportunities to work things out for yourselves and for you to ask questions to help you continue to make accelerated progress with your learning.  In order for you to make really good progress you must have the opportunity to have high quality feedback and marking and for you to think hard about what YOU can do to make your work better. We want ALL the children in our school to enjoy their time here, and for the activities we offer both in classrooms and outside of school hours to be full of fun and challenge, and for you to feel safe and well cared for.


We want all of us to know all of you whether you are in our class or not, for each child to feel that they are valued and that their different needs are met.  For the staff to be passionate about making a difference to each and every child and to know that their hard work is appreciated by me and the other people who help me to run our school.  We want every one of us to be committed to making a difference and to be flexible and open to change.  There must be a no excuses culture in our school and we never assume that you can’t achieve, we always believe that you can, and work hard to think about ways to ensure that this happens.


We want the governors to know our school well.  To visit regularly and to be keen to see the improvements we are making in practice.  To ask really difficult questions to make sure that we are doing the very best that we can.  For the governors to think out of the box about how they can help me and the rest of the staff to make your school better.


We want the parents to know that they have an important part to play in your education, that they can help make our school even better by attending parent’s evenings and asking your teachers what they can do to help you learn.  It would be great if they came to our fund raising events and really contributed to the life of the school by doing things like hearing readers, or helping out on the PTA.  We want them to know that they are always welcome and if things are not going the way that they want them to that they can come and talk to me and together we will try to put things right.



In more detail:

Our main aim is to provide excellent and enjoyable experiences in all aspects of school life so enabling the children to be happy, successful and keen to learn, thus helping them to grow into young people who are fulfilled and able to make a positive contribution to society.

"They come this way only once so we should litter their pathways with quality experiences."

We aim to do this in the context of a warm and welcoming Christian ethos so that the love of God will be evident to all who come within our walls and so that our children will develop strong values.

We believe that children should develop a happy way of being together, that their self-respect leads to a respect for the rights and needs of other children and adults from their own culture and other cultures.

We are aiming to educate the whole child by presenting a total experience which is right and relevant to his/her individuality, thus fostering the child's intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual development.

We aim to teach a broad and balanced curriculum by carefully planning and delivering the National Curriculum followed by an assessment of the children's progress by themselves and others; we also provide time for reflection and evaluation by the children and staff.

We recognise that change and progress are an important part of everyday life and, therefore, aim to equip children to cope and flourish in dealing with the challenges faced by such changes.
