St Bartholomew's CE Primary

Considerate, Co-operative, Confident

School Uniform and Appearance

We are proud of our appearance at St Bartholomew's CE Primary school.  Here is how we look our best!

General Appearance

We are very proud of our school and expect all children to show this in their appearance. We expect children to be clean and well-presented every day.
Long hair should be tied back in order to avoid limiting vision and reducing the chances of spreading hair lice.

School Uniform:  Our children at St Bartholomew’s are proud to wear their school uniform. This is as follows:

Boys:
Red Sweatshirt/Jumper
White shirt/polo shirt
Grey or black trousers
Black shoes or black trainers (if trainers are worn they should be plain black with no other colour at all)
Girls:
Red Sweatshirt/Jumper/Cardigan
White shirt/polo shirt
Black or grey skirt/trousers or black/grey pinafore dresses
(or a red checked “Gingham style” dress)
Black/grey tights
Black shoes/sandals or black trainers (if trainers are worn they should be plain black with no other colour at all)
Velcro fastening is a good idea for lots of children – and more or less essential for younger children!!
All clothing (including coats) should be named.

You can purchase book bags (£5) pump bags (£4.50)

Hair

Hair should not interfere with learning or be a distraction in any way.  For this reason, long hair should be tied back.  This also reduces the risk of head lice.

Extreme haircuts are not allowed and this includes non-typical cuts, lines or patterns in hair, colours or dyes or anything that may cause a distraction.

Hair accessories should be practical, not distracting or too large and in the school colours.

PE Clothing

We have a school PE Kit which is a white t shirt with the school logo and black shorts.

Children in all classes should ensure that they have their complete change of outer clothing (t-shirt/shorts or for
outside PE, black jogging bottoms) for PE/games activities – you will be told in your class newsletter at the
beginning of each half term if your child’s PE sessions are indoor or outdoor.
Children should wear pumps for PE sessions.

Uniform with the school logo on can be purchased from:

Ann’s Schoolwear in Bacup or TopForm in Rochdale.

School jumpers start at £9.50 and white polo shirts are £6.50. PE t-shirts are £6
